Harvest

from Diverse Elements by Brian Melick

/

about

Duet with Charlie Tokarz: Alto Flute, Bass Clarinet and Tenor Saxophones. I performed on an Elephant Grass instrument that was woven together and had a pocket in the middle created by palm leaves woven in - between stalks of grass with small stones inside the pocket that would vibrate when striking the 5 sets of 3 strings that were strung along the top. Very primitive sounding instrument I played by striking the strings with the eraser side of new no.#2 pencils. Similar to striking a dulcimer string.
